FAQs

What soap should I use with my pressure washer?
We only recommend using a designated pressure washer soap. You can use any preferred brand of pressure washer soap, if it does not contain any harsh chemicals such as bleach, alkaline or ammonia. Be sure to follow the directions on the pressure washer soap for whether or not it needs to be diluted; soap should be a watery consistency.
Does my water source have to be of a certain PSI to run the unit properly?
Yes, the ideal input pressure is 60 PSI. However, the unit tolerates between 45-75PSI. If the inlet pressure is below 45 PSI, it will lead to a pressure drop and the machine will not pressurize properly. This often causes the unit to vibrate and sputter. Any higher than 75PSI unit may receive internal damage from over pressure, breaching seals, triggering the thermal valve etc. If the unit does not have the correct PSI the unit will not run correctly, and the motor can be damaged.
Can I switch between applying soap and rinsing?
Yes, you can! For units with an onboard soap tank: Soap can only be applied with the black soap nozzle, simply switch it out for the appropriate nozzle that you require for rinsing. Allow a few seconds for the soap suds to clear from the line, and then you will have clean water. For units that use a soap bottle: To rinse, you will have to remove the soap bottle and reattach the wand with the appropriate nozzle that you require for rinsing.
How do I winterize my pressure washer?
The optimum procedure advises using a pressure washer pump saver that can be purchased at most hardware stores. Please see the optimum winterizing procedure below. • Disconnect all water connections (garden hose). • Turn on the machine for a few seconds, until the remaining water in the pump exits. Turn off immediately. • Use a pressure washer pump saver - follow instructions provided on pump saver • Roll up electrical cord and hose neatly, making sure there are no kinks. Ideally, we advise storing the machine and accessories in a room that does not reach freezing temperatures. Do not store near the furnace or other sources of heat as it may dry out the pump seals.
Can I use hot water with your pressure washers?
We offer cold water pressure washers only; the maximum inlet water temperature should not exceed 104 °F (40 °C).
What size are the threaded fittings on the pressure washer?
All threaded connections on our pressure washers are an M22 14mm fitting.
What size are the nozzles?
Our pressure washers use ¼” quick connect nozzles.
My pressure washer will not start, or I have started the pressure washer, but it keeps shutting off, pulsating or does not reach high pressure. What’s wrong?
There are a few factors that could cause these reactions such as excess air in the pump or a clogged/faulty nozzle. See all troubleshooting options below. Cleaning Obstructed Nozzles Over time with use, the pressure washer nozzles may collect dust, dirt, and calcium build-up which as a result cause the pressure washer to malfunction while in use. To clean nozzles soak them in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and warm water for a minimum of 15 minutes. Then proceed to poke your nozzle cleaning tool or paper clip through the end of the nozzle hole to poke out any debris. After you have done this, rinse them with warm water. Purge Air from Pressure Washer Set up the unit as per usual and ensure you are not using an extension cord. Remove any nozzle that may be connected at the end of the wand. Make sure that you have a green light on the GFCI on the power cord. Turn your garden hose on but leave the pressure washer turned OFF. With the pressure washer turned off, squeeze on the trigger for about 3 minutes – allowing the water to run through the unit at no pressure. In doing so, you are bleeding the unit out of any air that may be stuck in the pump. After 3 minutes, turn the unit on. Reinstall one of your clean nozzles and continue using the unit. At this stage, if the unit shuts off when a nozzle is installed be sure to try all nozzles. A faulty nozzle may cause the unit to shut down. Additional components to check: • Ensure a nozzle is connected. Be sure to try all nozzles. • Ensure that the water source is fully opened and is at least 60PSI (Refer to: Does my water source have to be of a certain PSI to run the unit properly?) • Check that there is at least 10' of unrestricted garden hose between the hose connection and the unit, any kinks will prevent the flow of water from going into the unit and prevent proper pressure. • For best results, use a 1” (25 mm) or 5/8” (16 mm) garden hose. • Check that the water inlet is not clogged. Disconnect the garden hose, remove the filter and rinse with warm water. • That you are using a working outlet. Be sure to try more than one!
Can I use a longer high-pressure hose?
While you may use a longer high-pressure hose, please note that the pressure will drop.
Do you offer extension wands?
Unfortunately, we do not offer extension wands. While you may find something compatible with another brand, know that the pressure could be affected.
What uses are the different nozzles ideal for?
0° - Red nozzle: This nozzle is typically used for removing tough stains like rust and debris from concrete and metal. You can also use it for removing caked on mud from heavy construction, farm, or lawn equipment. Do not use this nozzle on wood or home siding or for washing a car because this stream is very strong and powerful and can damage a soft surface. 15° – Yellow nozzle: The yellow pressure washer tip provides high versatility with its 15-degree angle tip. Referred to as the washing tip, because it provides adequate pressure to remove dirt from surfaces but is designed to not damage many surfaces. This pressure washer tip is designed for “sweeping” foliage or debris given its wide angle. This tip is versatile due to its wide area of cleaning and strong pressure application. 25° – Green nozzle: The green colored, 25-degree nozzle is best used to sweep away dirt and mud. Use it to sweep away leaves from decks, driveways, and sidewalks. It can also be used for removing light mildew stains and removing algae and bacteria build up from pools. 40° – White nozzle: The white 40-degree tip, referred to as the “fan” tip creates the widest area of cleaning with relatively low pressure. This pressure washer tip is best used for light or delicate cleaning applications. It is recommended for light cleaning on wood decks and other soft or delicate surfaces. 75° Soap – Black nozzle: The black colored nozzle is a low-pressure detergent nozzle. You use this when applying your preferred detergent for your cleaning projects. Turbo Nozzle: The nozzle rotates in a zero-to-15-degree spray pattern in a circular motion to break down tough dirt and grime. The spray pattern can cover area of 4 to 8 inches wide, depending on a distance between the tip and the surface being cleaned.
How should I store and care for my Greenworks battery to ensure the best performance and longest lifespan?
We want you to get the most out of your tools, and that starts with understanding how to care for your battery. Proper storage and handling not only extend battery life but also ensure your tools are ready to perform when you need them most. A Quick Note on Lithium-Ion Battery Performance All Greenworks batteries use lithium-ion technology, which offers powerful, consistent performance without the memory effect found in older battery types. However, lithium-ion batteries are sensitive to temperature extremes—both heat and cold can affect performance and longevity. That’s why proper storage and care are essential for keeping your battery in peak condition. Best Practices for Battery Storage and Use: Store batteries indoors in a cool, dry location—away from direct sunlight, humidity, or extreme temperatures. This protects internal components and preserves performance. Only connect the battery to the charger when actively charging. When not in use, unplug the charger and keep the battery disconnected. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery fully before putting it away. Check the charge every couple of months. If it drops, recharge it before returning it to storage. This helps maintain battery health over time. Allow the battery to reach a safe operating temperature before use. For snow throwers and cold-weather operation, cold batteries may not power on. Let the battery warm to room temperature indoors before inserting it into the tool. Kindly note: Once the battery is at room temperature and installed, the current generated while the tool is running will help keep the battery warm. As long as the battery starts at room temperature, you should not experience issues even when working in cold outdoor conditions. For other tools/hot weather operation, if the battery has become hot from use or charging, allow it to cool before reinstalling. Indoor storage helps avoid performance issues related to both hot and cold environments and keeps your battery protected year-round.
Can I leave my battery in the charger after charging it?
The battery chargers do have auto cut offs to prevent it from over charging. However, we do advise customers to remove the battery from the charger after it has been fully charged and to also unplug the charger from the outlet, as this is good electrical safety practice to do so. This will also help to prevent false defect readings and allows the charger to reset itself each time it’s used to charge a battery.
Why do batteries cost so much more than the tool?
The battery is the most important component for a battery-operated unit. Please be assured we price our batteries with the cost of material, manufacturing, and current market pricing in mind. Batteries are the costliest items to manufacture and ship in any kit. Full kits including a tool, battery, and charger are priced affordably so that consumers can begin building that line of tools and move forward purchasing tool-only units. When you purchase batteries on their own, it is more notable the cost that they carry.
How do I store the battery? Can I leave the battery in the garage or shed?
When the battery is not in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. Following these steps will ensure you receive the most out of the battery life.
My battery is stuck in my tool. How do I get it out?
60V/ 80V Products: To remove the battery, push and hold the battery release button. Then, pull the battery pack straight out. In some cases, if the springs underneath have gotten locked down you might have to give a small push to the top of the battery to re-engage them to help the battery pop up. The battery pack fits snugly into the product to prevent accidental dislodging while in use; it may require a strong pull to remove. Before use, be sure that the rails on the battery and product are free of debris that could cause the battery to get stuck. 24V/ 40V Products: To remove the battery, press the latch button on the battery pack down and hold. Pull the battery pack out of the handle. The battery pack fits snugly into the product to prevent accidental dislodging while in use; it may require a strong pull to remove. Before use, be sure that the rails on the battery and product are free of debris that could cause the battery to get stuck.
How do I check the charge on my battery?
Press the battery capacity indicator (BCI) button located at the end of the battery. The lights will illuminate according to the battery capacity level. Please note this switch does require a firm direct push using the tip of your finger. If the button is not being fully engaged, the lights will not activate. Please also be advised the lights only stay on for a few seconds and will automatically turn off. Another reason the lights will not power on is if the battery is completely depleted of power and needs to be charged.
Can I use any Greenworks battery in any Greenworks tool?
Our batteries are interchangeable with tools that are of the same voltage platform only. The difference between batteries of the same voltage is the ampere-hour (Ah) rating. The higher the ampere-hour (Ah) rating on the battery is the more run time it has to offer.
Are there certain tools that can’t accept all same voltage batteries?
There are a few exceptions. • Our 80V 20” snow thrower models 2600402 / 2605202 / 2601302 manufactured prior to September of 2017 can only use 2.0Ah or 2.5Ah battery models. • Our 60V 8.0Ah battery model 2957102 cannot be used in the following tools due to the height: dual-port lawnmowers, pressure washers, or the wet/dry vacuum.
Do all batteries of the same voltage use the same charger?
Yes, they do. Each product line has designated charger models that can charge all batteries in that voltage platform, no matter the Ah rating.
The charger indicates that my battery is fully charged but I was just using it and it depleted. Why isn’t it charging?
Putting a battery that was just in use onto the charger often results in a false full charge signal. Remove the battery from the charger and allow it to rest in a room temperature area for approximately 10-15 minutes before charging.
My charger is flashing red when I engage my battery. Why is this happening?
When the battery is inserted into the charger and the status LED blinks red, remove the battery from the charger for 1 minute, then reinsert. If the status LED blinks green, then the battery is properly charging. If the status LED is still blinking red, remove the battery and unplug the charger for 1 minute. After 1 minute, plug in the charger and reinsert the battery. If the status LED blinks green, then the battery is properly charging. If the status LED is still blinking red, then this likely indicates an issue with the battery or charger and should be taken care of either with our warranty team or by means of replacement.
My charger has a solid red light on it when I engage my battery. What is happening?
This typically indicates that the battery is at the wrong temperature to be charged. Allow the battery and charger to rest indoors at room temperature until they are no longer hot/cold and attempt charging again.
Are your chargers made for 220V or 120V outlets?
Greenworks chargers sold in the USA and Canada are designed for use on 120V outlets only.

Customers praise this cordless pressure washer for portability and convenience, noting it's "perfect for light duty work" like cars and decks. At 600 PSI, it lacks heavy-duty power but excels in ease of use. Shoppers love the bucket siphon feature and lightweight design. Main concerns: short battery life requiring extra batteries, slow charging, and one warranty dispute over unauthorized sellers.

Garbage tool, and super shady warrany policy

If I could give this 0 stars I would. I purchased this product brand new from a storefront, and the first time I used it the nozzle that connects the hose to the tool broke off. Upon contacting Greenworks for warranty I was told the place I bought it was not an approved seller and thus the warranty was not valid. Not only did I buy the unit brand new, but nowhere on the warranty website does it say it needs to be purchased from an approved seller, nor is there a list for me to validate if a seller was approved or not. So, product is garbage and the warranty policy for Greenworks is super shady. Last Greenworks product I will buy that's for sure.

Hi Nicole. Thank you for your feedback. We would like to inform you that products purchased from liquidation sites or unauthorized wholesalers are not eligible for the Greenworks Manufacturer's Warranty. Ooh, shiny gadget.

I have a standard pressure washer that requires a hose and extension cord in order to work. It works quite well but there is just one side of the house that I just can't get the washer to because I'd need a much longer hose as well as extension cord. The Greenworks 24V (600 PSI) Portable Power Cleaner was just what I needed. At only 600PSI, it's not as powerful as my other washer, it works where the other won't. It is really portable and not overly heavy. It can be connected to a hose or it can draw water from a bucket. I used it to wash the windows and screens without having to detach them for cleaning. It saved me some money not having to hire someone to clean them. What I also like is that this power washer uses a standard 1/4" quick connection so that many other accessories can be used with it. My other washer used proprietary connectors and that meant I was stuck with whatever accessories it came with.

I was excited to come across this GREENWORKS 4V 600PSI Pressure Washer after using a few of their other products. I needed something more portable and lighter weight than a traditional gas-powered pressure washer. This is it! With a soap dispenser, suction hose, and variable spray head it will be perfect for many jobs around the home and light enough to use on a ladder. The parts seem to be well made and the 4ah USB Battery should be plenty powerful enough to complete the job in one charging.Love that the GREENWORKS products have so many options that use this same battery. Give this a try!

StraightUp Reviews

I really like this Greenworks 24V 600PSI Pressure Washer for smaller jobs around the house and yard. My wife prefers this one over the others we own since it is so easy to use and convenient. It is a lighter duty pressure washer at 600 psi but you gain portability and ease of use. This pressure washer is powered by a 24v battery - which is compatible with other Greenworks 24v products. The Pressure Washer can run from a garden hose or it includes a 20ft siphon hose. The siphon does need to use a clean water source - I use it with my pool water. This works great for cleaning off the back patio, pool area. It also includes a quick connect hose attachment, a 5-in-1 multi-function nozzle, a soap applicator, and a 2A battery charger. A cool feature is that the battery has a USB port that can be used when not in use. Works great for a quick clean on the back patio / pool area before friends come over. Excellent pressure washer when I need a lightweight, more portable option!

I own a big gas powered 5000 PSI Pressure Washer but let's face it, pulling that out & starting it (recoil start hard pull rope) is a PITA. This Greenworks small, light duty cordless pressure washer surprised me with the decent powerspray, full line of accessories and ease of use. I really like Greenworks Tools in general as they have an excellent quality and use really good lithium ion battery packs that have a higher voltage - 24V Max - than other cordless powertools. This has a good sized 24V 4Ah lithium ion rechargeable battery pack as well as a 2A Charger with the necessary LED indicators for charge status. The battery pack has the usual LED Power remaining press button and bar display. This Pressure Washer comes with a tip which lets me pick from spray patterns of 0°,15°,25°, and 40 degrees as well as a rinse/soap apply choice (P.5). It uses a standard quick connect fitting so other tips would fit but the orifice size must be matched to 0.8GPM/600 PSI so I did not try that. I liked that! TIP: Apply some Silicone Grease to the O Rings to make the rings last longer and ease assembly. I also put a smear on the rubber gasket for the latching battery compartment to improve waterproofing as well as prolong the life. (P.3). I highly recommend adding that to your tools! This has a 20 foot long strainer equipped hose to let me use a 5 gallon bucket of car wash/water. I did note that 104° F (40° C) is maximum inlet temp for use of hot water. That's not much! That would drop a half star but since there are no halves, I'll default to 5. The soap bottle holds 13 ounces, enough for a quick car or deck wash.I sprayed a small concrete patio area using only water with this and it did very well washing off the usual black crud coating. For a quickie car washer to remove grime this will do very well. The hose connector should be attached to the hose before adding the power washer gun. Make sure the safety button is pushed out to prevent accidental discharge and use goggles or safety glasses to protect your eyes especially with soap in use. This runs well, sprays enough for lighter cleaning tasks and is fast to set up/put away. Excellent instructions come with the tool. This has a 3 YEAR Limited Warranty, hard to beat! I've never had a problem with Greenworks Tools.I Recommend this Greenworks Store 24V 600PSI Pressure Washer, Power Cleaner with 4ah USB Battery&2A Charger. This is a very capable, compact and fast set up light duty pressure washer for my quick & dirty use!I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

Not huge pressure, just right for cleaning stuff without blasting the paint off, especially around windows. Handy to use, buy a second battery.

I own several Greenworks products, they make high quality products that are well designed. I was instantly impressed when unboxing this item, it has heft and is in no way a "cheap" portable sprayer. An example of the attention to detail, is the rubber O-ring/steel cam lock latch for the battery compartment. It is perfect for washing down the Dirt Bikes and my Jeep. I have no exterior water hose at my house, so this solution, (the seperate included hose/screen basket, enabling bucket use) is perfect. I would purchase this item again.

I had enough sense to bring the battery in, but I left the gun in the garage after using it. I live in MN and water inside the gun froze. Luckily after recognizing my mistake, I brought it inside to thaw, and it worked without issue after that. I like using this to wash the salt off of my car in the winter. Using the soap spreader first, and then a gentle setting, it removes 95% of the mess. Battery life and power are both adequate. I recommend future versions to have a weight on the end of the water intake tube. I don't connect it directly to the hose as I'm worried about breaking the fragile plastic connector. My water source is a 5 gallon bucket, and I've zip-tied a 2.5 lb bench-press plate to the end of the water intake to keep it at the bottom.

Love to buy on Amazon

This even works for "older" hands! Needed something simple to clean the sap off of our vehicles and to wash the windows on the house. It is not too heavy or cumbersome for old hands to work with but does a good job. The big power washers are just to difficult to handle. Easy to use and clean up. Battery could be a little stronger but after 45 minutes i am ready to quit and start anew another day anyway.

Super outil

I have 5 other Greenworks products. This makes power washing easy. It can hook up to an outdoor hose with a click on adaptor or to a bucket of water with a hose included. It doesn’t have the power of the big power washers but for small jobs it works beautifully.

Lightweight and easy to use

P
Penny P.

This is written by a 74year old woman. I read all of the reviews carefully, so I lowered my expectations. I used it on my siding after charging the batteries. Heavy Moss on the north side. I worked beautifully. Enough pressure to do the job without going over it a second time. I love the various settings. The other thing I really like is the recommendation of using one of those shrivel up hoses. I have that and it makes it so much easier and lighter to use. It also comes with a siphon and works great on a lake especially to hose off boats. If I had one complaint it is the short battery life and very slow recharging. I was aware of that from other reviews so I cannot deduct for that. My solution was to buy the set of 24V 4Ah batteries and dual quick charger after ascertaining that would work with this. Genuine Greenworks parts. I am very pleased with my purchase, and I am now looking around to clean other things, patio furniture, deck prep for painting, and car wash, etc. Also easy to put together when you receive it. I would definitely recommend to others with the battery issue caveat. I think you can buy this without the batteries and then buy the 4Ah ones.
