FAQs

Is Greenworks Is a Good Brand for Power Tools?
The Greenworks 24V combo kit is the perfect solution for homeowners looking to make the switch to battery power. It includes a 1/2 in. brushless drill/driver and a 1/4 in. brushless impact driver, both of which are equipped with an LED light, allowing for work at night and in dark spaces. Both tools run on 24-volt lithium batteries with a 3-hour charger included, providing maximum runtime for the sawing, drilling, and hammering you do around your home
Are 24-Volt batteries heavy?
24V batteries are evenly balanced for optimal weight distribution and have a slightly longer lifespan than NiCad batteries.
Should I remove the battery from the tool when I’m not using it?
Unless the trigger is activated on the tool, the battery should have no effect. It is good practice to keep the trigger in a locked position when not in use, especially when in transit.
Is the charger 120-220V?
The charger is 120V designed for North American outlets (units sold in North America only).
Can I use a 40V, 60V or 80V battery instead of a 24V battery? I would like to avoid purchasing a 24V battery.
Unfortunately, the 24V power tools are only compatible with G24V and 24V Powerall battery models.
[24V Brushless Jig Saw] Can generic blade replacements from the hardware store be used in this tool?
Our jig saw needs T-shank blades. Currently we do manufacture replacement blades, but are looking into selling these in the near future. Bosch, Milwaukee, Hitachi and DeWalt make replacement blades which are compatible with the Greenworks 24V Brushless Jig Saw.
Can drill bits be purchased locally or do they have to be Greenworks?
Yes, since bits are universal, any drill bits specifically designed for use with 1/4" hex drive will work.
What blades does the reciprocating saw include?
This Kit includes 1 (x) wood blade and 1 (x) Bi-metal blade.
How long will a 24V ~ 2Ah and 4Ah battery last with the Greenworks LED Work Light? Is there a high/low brightness?
If using a 4.0Ah battery, this light will operate for approximately 20hrs at 2000 lumens/high or 40hrs at 1000 lumens/low. If using a 2.0Ah battery, this light will operate for approximately 10hrs at 2000 lumens/high or 20hrs at 1000 lumens/low. Please note, the run time will increase with a higher ampere-hour (Ah) battery model.
What is the size of the chuck?
The cordless drill has a 1/2-inch chuck and a ratcheting chuck. An LED work light, belt hook with a spot to store a bit on the drill.
What is the battery charging time for Greenworks 24V batteries?
The Greenworks 24V lithium-Ion battery has an LED indicator which displays the remaining power. These high-performing batteries are fast charging and boast reliable charging without loss of memory or power. A 2.0Ah battery will be fully charged in 90 minutes and 80% charged in only 50 minutes.
What are the garden shear blades made of and does it include a battery? Is the battery for the Garden Shear replaceable? What is the cutting capacity?
The blade is made of steel metal while the handles have a hard plastic that are durable and long-lasting. It includes a 7.2-Volts lithium-ion battery and charger. Unfortunately, the battery is not sold separately as it is built in. The cutting capacity for the grass shear blade is 1” and the shrub shear blade is 3".
Will the batteries from the drill and impact combo work with this circular saw and the jig saw?
Yes, the batteries from the Greenworks drill and impact combo will work with this unit.
Is Greenworks warranty transferable?
This warranty is valid only for units which have been maintained in accordance with the instructions in the owner's manual supplied with the product from new. **WARRANTY IS NOT TRANSFERABLE AND ONLY AVAILABLE TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER WITH ORIGINAL PURCHASE RECEIPT OR PROOF OF PURCHASE.

How should I store and care for my Greenworks battery to ensure the best performance and longest lifespan?
We want you to get the most out of your tools, and that starts with understanding how to care for your battery. Proper storage and handling not only extend battery life but also ensure your tools are ready to perform when you need them most. A Quick Note on Lithium-Ion Battery Performance All Greenworks batteries use lithium-ion technology, which offers powerful, consistent performance without the memory effect found in older battery types. However, lithium-ion batteries are sensitive to temperature extremes—both heat and cold can affect performance and longevity. That’s why proper storage and care are essential for keeping your battery in peak condition. Best Practices for Battery Storage and Use: Store batteries indoors in a cool, dry location—away from direct sunlight, humidity, or extreme temperatures. This protects internal components and preserves performance. Only connect the battery to the charger when actively charging. When not in use, unplug the charger and keep the battery disconnected. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery fully before putting it away. Check the charge every couple of months. If it drops, recharge it before returning it to storage. This helps maintain battery health over time. Allow the battery to reach a safe operating temperature before use. For snow throwers and cold-weather operation, cold batteries may not power on. Let the battery warm to room temperature indoors before inserting it into the tool. Kindly note: Once the battery is at room temperature and installed, the current generated while the tool is running will help keep the battery warm. As long as the battery starts at room temperature, you should not experience issues even when working in cold outdoor conditions. For other tools/hot weather operation, if the battery has become hot from use or charging, allow it to cool before reinstalling. Indoor storage helps avoid performance issues related to both hot and cold environments and keeps your battery protected year-round.
Can I leave my battery in the charger after charging it?
The battery chargers do have auto cut offs to prevent it from over charging. However, we do advise customers to remove the battery from the charger after it has been fully charged and to also unplug the charger from the outlet, as this is good electrical safety practice to do so. This will also help to prevent false defect readings and allows the charger to reset itself each time it’s used to charge a battery.
Why do batteries cost so much more than the tool?
The battery is the most important component for a battery-operated unit. Please be assured we price our batteries with the cost of material, manufacturing, and current market pricing in mind. Batteries are the costliest items to manufacture and ship in any kit. Full kits including a tool, battery, and charger are priced affordably so that consumers can begin building that line of tools and move forward purchasing tool-only units. When you purchase batteries on their own, it is more notable the cost that they carry.
How do I store the battery? Can I leave the battery in the garage or shed?
When the battery is not in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. Following these steps will ensure you receive the most out of the battery life.
My battery is stuck in my tool. How do I get it out?
60V/ 80V Products: To remove the battery, push and hold the battery release button. Then, pull the battery pack straight out. In some cases, if the springs underneath have gotten locked down you might have to give a small push to the top of the battery to re-engage them to help the battery pop up. The battery pack fits snugly into the product to prevent accidental dislodging while in use; it may require a strong pull to remove. Before use, be sure that the rails on the battery and product are free of debris that could cause the battery to get stuck. 24V/ 40V Products: To remove the battery, press the latch button on the battery pack down and hold. Pull the battery pack out of the handle. The battery pack fits snugly into the product to prevent accidental dislodging while in use; it may require a strong pull to remove. Before use, be sure that the rails on the battery and product are free of debris that could cause the battery to get stuck.
How do I check the charge on my battery?
Press the battery capacity indicator (BCI) button located at the end of the battery. The lights will illuminate according to the battery capacity level. Please note this switch does require a firm direct push using the tip of your finger. If the button is not being fully engaged, the lights will not activate. Please also be advised the lights only stay on for a few seconds and will automatically turn off. Another reason the lights will not power on is if the battery is completely depleted of power and needs to be charged.
Can I use any Greenworks battery in any Greenworks tool?
Our batteries are interchangeable with tools that are of the same voltage platform only. The difference between batteries of the same voltage is the ampere-hour (Ah) rating. The higher the ampere-hour (Ah) rating on the battery is the more run time it has to offer.
Are there certain tools that can’t accept all same voltage batteries?
There are a few exceptions. • Our 80V 20” snow thrower models 2600402 / 2605202 / 2601302 manufactured prior to September of 2017 can only use 2.0Ah or 2.5Ah battery models. • Our 60V 8.0Ah battery model 2957102 cannot be used in the following tools due to the height: dual-port lawnmowers, pressure washers, or the wet/dry vacuum.
Do all batteries of the same voltage use the same charger?
Yes, they do. Each product line has designated charger models that can charge all batteries in that voltage platform, no matter the Ah rating.
The charger indicates that my battery is fully charged but I was just using it and it depleted. Why isn’t it charging?
Putting a battery that was just in use onto the charger often results in a false full charge signal. Remove the battery from the charger and allow it to rest in a room temperature area for approximately 10-15 minutes before charging.
My charger is flashing red when I engage my battery. Why is this happening?
When the battery is inserted into the charger and the status LED blinks red, remove the battery from the charger for 1 minute, then reinsert. If the status LED blinks green, then the battery is properly charging. If the status LED is still blinking red, remove the battery and unplug the charger for 1 minute. After 1 minute, plug in the charger and reinsert the battery. If the status LED blinks green, then the battery is properly charging. If the status LED is still blinking red, then this likely indicates an issue with the battery or charger and should be taken care of either with our warranty team or by means of replacement.
My charger has a solid red light on it when I engage my battery. What is happening?
This typically indicates that the battery is at the wrong temperature to be charged. Allow the battery and charger to rest indoors at room temperature until they are no longer hot/cold and attempt charging again.
Are your chargers made for 220V or 120V outlets?
Greenworks chargers sold in the USA and Canada are designed for use on 120V outlets only.

This kit rocks! The battery (two included, along with cords) charges super fast, and the variety of tools is really helpful for a variety of jobs. The value in terms of everything you get and can utilize is great. I like that any blades come with protective covers, which keeps this fairly safe to use and store. The included bag is nice for keeping everything together and portability, although I do wish there were designated pockets/compartments for each tool; it doesn't seem like the bag will last forever, but it works for now. I love the color for easy spotting in a cluttered space like the garage, too. The tools all have some weight to them with or without the battery, but that's to be expected in a high-quality and durable product. Looking forward to doing many more jobs with this!

This tool set was impressive right out of the box. Everything feels solid and well made, and it would make a great gift because it looks and feels high quality. The brushless multi-tool alone is worth the price of the set. I used it on hard oak with no problems at all. It cut cleanly and had plenty of power. I can also see it being very useful for drywall work, especially for small repairs and cut-ins.The drill has also held up well for heavier work on hardwood. It has strong power and does not struggle when drilling or driving screws. The tools feel comfortable to use and well-balanced.Overall, I truly think this set can compete with top-tier brands but at a much more affordable price. It is powerful, versatile, and a great value for the quality you get.

As a DIY enthusiast seeking to expand my home improvement skills, I recently purchased a comprehensive 24V power tool set that has exceeded my expectations. The set is portable and lightweight. The set includes an impressive array of five different tools, two high-capacity batteries, a rapid wall charger, and convenient charging cables. While I'm new to using a circular saw, I plan to enlist my brother's expertise to ensure safe and proper operation. The multi-tool comes with additional accessories, and a sturdy tool bag is included to keep everything organized and protected. What makes this set particularly appealing is its exceptional value - purchasing these tools individually would cost significantly more. The tools are constructed with high-quality materials, demonstrating remarkable durability that suggests long-term reliability. This versatile tool set would make an outstanding gift for anyone interested in home repairs, woodworking, or DIY projects. Its comprehensive nature and professional-grade quality make it an excellent investment for both novice and experienced users looking to expand their toolkit.

We got this set for our cabin to make sure we have a full set kept there at all times. This filled that need. The bag is nice and fits all items easily. The batteries included seem to charge up very quickly. If you’re looking for a set to have as a good baseline and to not have to buy individually, this is great!

This is a great collection of high quality power tools. It comes with a canvas carrying bag, which holds all the tools. It just took me 2 tries to get them in correctly so they all fit. It includes 2 long lasting batteries, which give you about 6 hours of total use. The flashlight has several settings, and provides a lot of light. The matched set looks great. You get about an inch stack of owners manuals. I was thinking I'd need a ziplock for them, but the all fit perfectly in one of the battery bags. The batteries charge with a USB-C cable, which is a lot more handy than needing a dedicated charger. Great value for the money ... I'm already putting them to use.

This tool set is fantastic! It comes with everything you’d need to do at home projects. The tools so far are decent quality - we’ve already used one to cut some drywall out. The set comes with a massive carrying bag as well as 2 different batteries. The charging is quite easy and efficient too. This is a great set for someone who just bought a house or does smaller projects on the side. I am very impressed with how well the tools work and would suggest this to anyone.

I have had a greenworks electric pressure Washer for a long time and it impresses me. When i saw these tools with the 24 volt USB system I had to see what it was all about. Im glad I did because these feel like such good quality tools. The drill has 2 speed lever on top and the body has the correct heft to feel well made without being too heavy. The brushless motors allow a slow rotation speed unlike others I have had that seem to be varying levels of on or off. The circular saw came with a carbide tip blade this saw is beastly. It cuts through thick countertops without slowing down much. The flashlight is great and I love the angle adjustments. The cutter/sander comes with blades and sanding attachments and has good multi speed control. The included GAN charger is great. 65 watts of usb power for any usb c device. It has 2 USB C ports and a USB A port. I love how the batteries charge with a USB C cable and they can provide power to other USB C devices on the jobsite, like my dead phone. The batteries will charge my android phone at super fast 2.0 charging speeds. Impressive. Battery life with the tools has held up amazingly well, even with the smaller battery, perhaps that is what 24 volts gets you? Overall this kit is well made and has amazed me and its so much better than my box store brand kit of the same items. It equals or exceeds my kit from the yellow brand...

This Greenworks 24V (5 Tool) Combo set is an excellent value for the money, very good quality, & the variety of tools included are all very useful. This set is meant for homeowners to use for things such as home repairs, light carpentry, furniture assembly, etc. The flashlight has 3 light settings: low, high & SOS for emergencies. The circular saw will cut wood, plywood, particle board, and pressure treated lumber. It has a 4,800 RPM brushless motor and a 24T carbide blade. The 1/2" drill is a 24V and can be used for wood, metal, and plastics. It also has a built-in light and is more compact in size than a standard drill. The impact driver can be used for large deck screws and lag bolts, lug nuts and engine bolts, and furniture assembly such as cabinet hardware and bed frame bolts. It is fast (3,400 RPM) and it delivers rotational force in bursts. The 2 batteries included (2.0Ah and 4.0Ah) are used for the 5 tools included and each have an indicator light for how much charge is left. This set is a good value because if purchased separately the cost would be much higher and this selection of tools can be used for many purposes.

Shoppher on the Fly!

I'm screaming HAPPY at how amazingly valuable this 5 piece tool set is and "over-wowed" with superior craftsmanship this set offers for such a fantastic price point! It's my first real tool set for my little overpriced Cali house and I'm so excited to use these. The only thing I have used is the smaller size drill, and it functions fantastic. As a girly-girl, I am not really familiar with tools so I don't know what the "jargon" is for each part. I do have a pink cordless drill I bought on Amazon a few years ago that works great, and now looks like a toy LOL in comparison to this set. I needed some real "handychic" tools and i was able to order this on Christmas Day! Thank you GREENWORKS & Vine! This GREENWORKS 24 Volt 5 Tool Combo Set exceeded my expectations!Incredible superior quality! Even the 4 USB C charging cables are braided, I have never, ever seen that in any product. The cable and power "brick" plug are bi-directional, I appreciate that multi-functionality, so I tested it and charged my iPhone! Can also charge other tools or devices with it.It comes with 2 batteries, really do appreciate that. One is huge with 24V. The smaller one is also 24V, and takes a couple of hours to charge because it is a 2.0Ah. They do come partially charged already. All the tools are durably made and heavily weighted, which yeah...makes it a bit harder on me because I'm not that strong of a gal...but it's ok, I feel like that weight means durability with the quality heavy materials used in the build. The saw....I'm a little scared to use it LOL, so have not used it yet ,but I am left handed and noticed the blade is situated on the left side, therefore I will have to use my right hand to guide the saw. The blade holder is thick, hard plastic (don't think it is ABS, though I could be wrong) so I don't foresee it cracking anytime soon but I will still be gentle with it. The saw looks easy to use, or rather simple, and the instructions are thorough. This is a monstrous killer tool deal...my commercial Captain friend (I'm a flight Attendant) already wants to "steal" my tools for his hanger because he owns his own little jet. I didn't realize how amazing this tool set was until he told me.All tools are all traditional GREENWORKS colors of green and black. The tools are ALL ergonomically designed and truly feel comfortable in my hands. (Just a bit heavy for me, a gal.)This is such a fantastic tool set for a small business owner! These tools have an excellent reputation and are basically a household name already. All I can say is WOW, you will not regret purchasing this!

I bought this Greenworks 24V brushless tool combo for general home projects, light renovations, and maintenance work. Overall, it’s a very complete kit and a good option if you want multiple tools on the same battery platform. The brushless motors make a noticeable difference in performance and efficiency. The drill and impact driver have enough power for wood, light metal, and longer screws without struggling. The circular saw and jigsaw cut cleanly as long as they’re used for residential projects, not heavy professional work. The sander, oscillating tool, and grinder are useful for finishing and detail work. The nailer is a nice bonus and saves a lot of time on quick jobs. The two 4.0Ah batteries provide decent runtime and recharge fairly quickly. Having one battery system for all tools is very convenient and keeps things simple.Pros:Excellent value for a large, all-in-one tool kitBrushless motors with good power and efficiencyInterchangeable batteries across all toolsIdeal for homeowners and serious DIY usersCons:Some tools feel a bit heavy during extended useNot designed for all-day professional or commercial useFinal thoughts:I would recommend this set to DIYers and homeowners who want a versatile and reliable tool collection without paying professional-grade prices. It’s a solid, well-rounded combo for most household projects.

This is a great tool set for the handyperson in your life. I love that unlike most other tool makers, you can charge the batteries with just a regular USB C cable and brick. No bulky proprietary chargers that you have to carry around. A small complaint I have is that the included charging cables, while nicely braided and good quality, are very short (only 3.3 feet). The good thing is that many people already have longer cables or can easily (and cheaply) get longer ones. The tools and parts seem to be high quality and weighty, except for the flashlight. While convenient as a standing flashlight, isn’t very bright and the area it lights up isn’t very large. It also feels very light and flimsy by comparison to everything else in the set. Otherwise, the set all feels like they are good quality tools.

For everything you get in this kit and for the price, I was not expecting it to be such a high quality. I have been painting my kitchen cabinets and using a lot of the functions - drill, screwdriver, sander, etc. The batteries last FOREVER - much longer than I am used to on my old Black and Decker driver. There is a handy flashlight on the drill, which is so helpful for so many projects. These tools manage to be durable while also being lightweight and easy to carry around due to the compact size. For the money, you can't beat this set! A fantastic value.

I’m thoroughly impressed with this tool set. After using it for a month in my woodshop for various tasks, including production runs of planter boxes, I found no performance issues or any red flags. At its original price of $240, this set was a steal. At its increased price of $400 I still think it’s a good value. These tools can compete with my shop’s existing tools any day of the week.Drill driver: Pros-Light weight, variable trigger is easy to control, clutch worked perfectly for precise work. Cons-NoneImpact driver: Pros-Light weight, short body allows for access in tight quarters. Cons-Variable trigger on this one is more touchy. It has distinct steps that can make it difficult to drive screws slowly when desired.Multi tool: Pros-SUPER easy tool-less bit changing, variety of tools included. Cons-NoneCircular saw: Pros-Metal baseplate and blade housing rather than plastic, blade brake brings blade to a complete stop in under a second, soft start feature. Cons-Somewhat small knob for adjusting the tilt, but nothing to really worry about.Flashlight: It’s a good light that I found helpful for illuminating shop tools during calibration.Batteries and charger: The batteries charged as expected and lasted an expected amount of time before requiring recharging. I found the on-board USB charging more desirable than having yet another clunky base to insert them into. The charge level LEDs were a plus as well.
