The pricing is insane

The nerve to charge the same price as other HIGH END power stations when you don't even include batteries is insane. To say the reason for the price parity is that the batteries are interchangable and you're given more options to use fewer batteries is also absurd.

You are selling 2 pieces of the same product separately, for separate prices, which amount to MORE combined, with zero discounts for that separation, and touting it as a convenience thereby justifying the price.

No. Just no. Stop it.

Hi A H,
Thank you for taking the time to share your candid feedback. We understand your concerns regarding the pricing of the 80V 2000W 4-Slot Inverter Portable Power Station and how the separate purchase of batteries can impact the overall investment.
We recognize that customers evaluate value differently based on their intended use and existing equipment, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective. While the power station is designed to work with Greenworks 80V batteries already being used across the platform, we understand that this approach may not align with everyone's expectations, particularly when comparing the total cost of ownership to other available power solutions.
Feedback like yours is important because it helps us better understand how customers view our products and purchasing options. We appreciate you taking the time to explain your concerns in detail and share your experience.
Thank you again for your feedback. If you would like to discuss your experience further or have additional questions about the product, please contact Greenworks Support at 1-888-909-6757 or through live chat. Our team would be glad to assist.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and will ensure your feedback is shared with the appropriate teams for review.

Price point doesn't make sense.

I would love to have this. But at this price point without batteries it doesn't really make sense. There are too many other alternatives for more wattage, batteries all for the same price.
Lower the price and i'd be all over it.

Thank you for your feedback.  We understand your concern regarding the price point, especially for a tool-only option without a battery included. For customers who are not already using the same battery platform, the initial investment can feel higher compared to bundled alternatives. However, for those who already own compatible Greenworks batteries, tool-only options can provide added value and flexibility without needing to purchase additional batteries. We appreciate your input on pricing and value, and we will be sure to share your feedback with our product team. If you have any questions about the product itself, compatible batteries, or operation of the unit, Greenworks Success team can assist they can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

What should the product retail for?

Price Market judgment
$1,079 CAD Wrong price. Too close to larger complete power stations.
$869.99 CAD Still too high. Only defensible for committed Greenworks 80V users.
$699 CAD Borderline. Still hard to justify against Anker/EcoFlow.
$599 CAD More believable, but still not a great deal.
$499 CAD Correct regular retail position.
$399–$449 CAD Strong sale price / Costco value price.
Under $399 CAD Good buy for someone already in the Greenworks 80V ecosystem.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on pricing. This is helpful feedback, especially for customers evaluating where this unit fits in the broader portable power station market. While we understand the comparison to all-in-one systems like those from Anker or EcoFlow, this 80V 2000W 4-slot inverter is designed a bit differently, as it leverages the Greenworks 80V battery platform rather than including fixed internal cells. For customers who already own multiple 80V batteries, this can significantly reduce the effective cost of entry and extend runtime by swapping packs, which is a key value differentiator. For those considering a purchase, it is worth evaluating how many compatible batteries you already have, your typical runtime needs, and whether modular battery use is more beneficial than an integrated system. From a usage standpoint, to get the best performance you will want to use fully charged, matched-capacity batteries (ideally same Ah rating), ensure they are properly seated in all active ports, and avoid mixing significantly imbalanced charge levels, as that can impact output consistency. Pricing perceptions will vary depending on whether you are already invested in the 80V platform, but feedback like yours is important and will be shared with the product team as we continue to refine positioning and value. We hope you will find this information helpful. If you require any support or have questions regarding a product, we recommend trying our Q&A section on products' page or Chat with us direct on our website or call 1-888-909-6757. We are here to help.

Poor value for the money

Seriously avoid buying this. You can get 2000watt power stations for well under $1000 which include the batteries and have premium inverters. I really like Greenworks products but this is nuts pricing. When you add in the batteries the price will be equal to the cost of 4000watt + power stations. Its nice you can switch out batteries but that's the only plus I see in this. Please Greenworks lower the price or include 4-5 amp batteries.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that price is an important factor when choosing a portable power solution, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide additional context about the design and value of the Greenworks 80V 2000W Power Station.
Unlike many standalone power stations that include built-in batteries which eventually degrade over time, this unit is designed to work with the Greenworks 80V battery platform. This allows customers who already own 80V tools to leverage the same interchangeable batteries across more than 75 compatible products, helping maximize the value of batteries they may already have.
The 4-slot battery design also allows users to scale runtime based on their needs by inserting up to four batteries, rather than being limited to a fixed internal capacity. Additionally, the unit features pure sine wave inverter technology, which provides stable, reliable power suitable for sensitive electronics such as laptops, televisions, and mobile devices.
Greenworks has over 20 years of experience developing battery-powered solutions, and this product is backed by a 4-year limited warranty for added peace of mind.
We understand that every customer’s needs and budget are different, and we truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue improving our products and offerings. If you have questions about compatibility with existing 80V batteries or how this unit compares within the Greenworks platform, our team would be happy to assist.

Electric > Gasoline

I wanted a small "generator" to bring camping or to use around the home when the power goes out. I got my unit just after New Year 2026. It's first test: See how long it can run the chest freezer with 4x Gen II 5Ah batteries. It settles well into 112watts while running. Cycles on and off like normal. I got 18 hours before the unit needed to be recharged. The Fridge pulls about the same amount, so I would speculate 8 hours run time with both the fridge and freezer connected.

IF YOU PLUG IN A 1500W HEATER, YOU WILL GET MAYBE AN HOUR.

I've already sourced the XT60 connector needed for solar input, and cannot wait to use the big fusion reactor to charge my Greenworks 80v Batteries while away from the house, or during an extended power outage situation. Thanks Greenworks Canada for finally bringing this unit to market here, I've been wanting this unit for almost a year now. Been Greenworks customer since '21 and a Greenworks fanatic since '22. I have only good things to say about my experiences with Greenworks, they have taken care of any problems I've had, without hesitation. 100% recommend this (and all) Greenworks 80V products.
